Cancer Testing Continues For 24,000 Patients
Miramichi- The class action lawsuit involving a Miramichi hospital is gathering steam as patients are looking for satisfaction involving the accused negligence of the area hospital.
The actions of the hospital and its pathology lab are the subject of an ongoing class action lawsuit.
There are between 6 and 8 thousand possible people that are potentially clients of the class action suit, which involves patients that had biopsies that were wrong regarding cancer diagnosis.
Some patients were given a clean bill of health and later discovered to have cancer.
Others were diagnosed and underwent costly and invasive treatment only to discover later that they in fact do not have the disease.
The liability of the hospital is huge, and it will be up to the Miramichi Court of Queens Bench to make the ruling when the Class action suit goes forward, which is predicted for this fall.
Many people are angry that are joining the lawsuit, as it has disrupted their lives, and in some cases for those who had invasive cancer but were given a clean bill of health it meant the death of a loved one.
