FDA Declares Tomatoes Not The Cause Of Salmonella Outbreak

Washington, D.C.- The public in America has largely changed its eating habits to avoid eating or consuming contaminated food, and the FDA has now informed us that Tomatoes are safe to eat once again.

The only problem is; there may not have been any problem with tomatoes in the first place, it is just not known.

The outbreak of Salmonella was quickly placed at the doorway of tomatoes, and many different types were warned against consumers eating them.

So, large amounts of tomato crops sat in warehouses, and literally rotted.

Meanwhile, investigators eventually turned their attention to other forms of produce, including cilantro, and a couple types of peppers.

Despite nearly a two and a half month long investigation the government cannot pinpoint the single cause that has led to more than 1,200 people in 42 states, Canada and the District of Columbia from getting ill with salmonella.

And the worse thing is, it may never have been tomatoes in the first place, it just is not known for sure.

The growers and producers of tomatoes are angry and frustrated, and they lead the calls for more effective detection and response to these types of food borne illness and public emergencies.
