Patients Treated With It Show Memory And Brain Function Gain

Washington, D.C.- Many people know the pain and frustration that comes from having a loved one that is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

A new medication, an antihistamine named Dimebon is showing a lot of promise for the patients that are afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease.

It appears to have a positive affect on cognitive function, on the ability to deal with daily living, and on memory, and the effects seem to increase over time.

The new drug is called Dimebon and it has even shown a certain amount of success in reversing the effects and symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease in a few of the patients in the study.

The new research is reported in the British medical journal the Lancet, and is an important new tool that potentially can aid in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.

“I was pleased to see its effects and that it appears to be promising,” said Dr. Sam Gandy, the former Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Council to the Alzheimer’s Association Medical Association.

The thing is that Dimebon is designed like all other antihistamine’s to treat allergies, but when it was given to patients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease they showed significant improvement when taking it three times a day.
