New Look At Elderly Patient Care Being Examined In Ontario
Toronto- The provincial ombudsman Andre Marin is working to spend the next six months taking a long look at the way that nursing homes care for their clients and patients in Ontario.
Mr. Marin is investigating both how nursing homes do their jobs but also how the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care office deals with and regulates nursing homes throughout the province of Ontario.
Resident Care should be of primary importance, and it is Mr. Marin’s job to make sure that the Health and Long Term Care Ministry is keeping track of and inspecting various nursing homes and care facilities.
Some people have accused the Ministry of not being very much on the ball when it comes to patient care issues, and that allegations have been leveled that the ministry is willing to look the other way for smaller issues that are still important dealing with the level of patient care.
All this and more is part of the reason that Andre Marin is on the case, taking the time for a first hand look to see how the issue is developing in Ontario.
Also being examined is whether the number of rules and standards are mere bureaucratic regulations and whether they truly affect the level of patient care and care standards.
