New Research Indicates Problems Can Include Adult Issues

Norway- Premature birth can affect a person for their entire life according to new research that is being performed in Norway.

Scientists and researchers who are looking at premature birth are finding that there are long-term links that affect a person for the rest of their lives.

This is even true for those people that do not suffer any disability that is evident from childhood, or other condition that initially is apparent in any way.

Researchers from Norway report that babies that are born early are more likely to develop cerebral palsy, mental retardation, or other late term disability than people who are carried to full term birth.

In the July 17th edition of the New England Journal of Medicine, the results of a long-term study performed by scientists in Norway is revealed.

The scientists in Norway found that when premature babies grew into adulthood, they often were more likely to be sickly later in life, and to not have a high income, even to suffer considerably more un employment during their lifetimes than others who are carried to full term.

These results are surprising in some ways, but not in others, as the medical community has long suspected that being born premature has a host of unidentified issues accompanying it.
