
New Reported Cases In Georgia Bring List Of States To Six
Atlanta, Georgia- The initial outbreak of E. Coli that had previously affected only Ohio and Michigan has now expanded to Four additional states.
New York, Kentucky, Indiana and Georgia are now all locations with at least one case of E. Coli infection that has been confirmed.
The strains in each state appear identical to the strain discovered that has sickened nearly 41 people in Michigan and Ohio, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.
The current outbreak is linked to beef from Nebraska Beef Ltd, which was sold in stores in Michigan and Ohio.
Nebraska Beef recalled nearly 537,707 pounds at first but then expanded their recall to nearly 5.3 million pounds of beef recalled.
The latest on the illness from the CDC is that the illness started to show up between May 30th and June 24, and that so far there have been no reported deaths from E. Coli.
Kroger Grocery stores has been hit already with a lawsuit by a woman who bought ground beef in Dublin Ohio, and then later got ill after allegedly consuming the meat.
