Patient Left Ignored To Die On Psychiatric Emergency Room Floor
New York City-There is a huge controversy on whether or not criminal charges should be filed against the staff of a Kings County Hospital Center for their actions in the death of a 49-year-old Jamaican woman on June 19th.
The death of the woman was captured on surveillance video that shows her in agony on the floor as the staff of the hospital worked around her and ignored her.
Jamaican woman Esman Green died tragically at the psychiatric ward of the New York City Kings County Hospital Center, and her death has led to a in depth examination of the practices at the hospital where she died.
The Civil Liberties Union of New York City and various mental health advocates have filed a lawsuit alleging long term and repeated neglect and abuse of patients at the hospital, and this case serves only to add more information as to how patients are allegedly ignored, mistreated and not given necessary treatment.
Esman Green’s body was taken to the morgue where city officials arranged to have a funeral and to pay the cost of her transportation back to Jamaica for burial.
