
Kroger Food Stores Increased Its Recall Effort
Columbus, Ohio-There is continuing cases of E. Coli illnesses being reported in Ohio and Michigan.
Because of this Kroger Grocery Stores have expanded its recall of ground beef products. Ground beef sold between May 21st and June 8th have been linked to E. Coli bacteria and the current spate of illnesses in Michigan and Ohio.
The Kroger Grocery store brand, as well as the Private Selection Natural Ground beef is being recalled by all Kroger Grocery stores.
The recall is being further expanded to include ground beef products in Styrofoam tray packaging and other ground beef products sold by Kroger.
Officials in Michigan have reported 15 different E. Coli cases and nearly half of these patients have reported eating or consuming ground beef that was purchased at Kroger Grocery stores.
The health officials in both Michigan and Ohio are looking to try and find the supplier of the original tainted ground beef. It is suspected that other grocery outlets and retailers may also have received ground beef that is tainted.
Nebraska Beef has been identified as the supplier to many of the different retail outlets.
The US Department of Agriculture has identified Nebraska Beef and is continuing to investigate the E. Coli situation in both Ohio and Michigan.
