Boston (EON) - A new report has found that women who undergo breast implants are three times more likely to commit suicide.
The research was published in this month’s issue of Annals of Plastic Surgery and confirms the link between breast implants and an increased suicide risk.
The study was led by Loren Lipworth who stated that there is a strong risk of suicide linked to plastic surgery, especially on the breast. Many plastic surgeons it is being suggested should seek mental health screening for women who want to have breast implants.
Over 3,500 Swedish women were looked at in the study, all went through breast implant surgery between 1965 and 1993. They found that the suicide rate was three times higher for women with breast implants at an average of 19-years after the follow-up.
Suicide risks did not increase after the first 10 years after the breast implant surgery. From 10 to 19 years though the risk increased by 4.5 times. After 20 years it jumped to 6 times.

Duh, no sh-t Sherlock! Any woman who is so lacking in self esteem that they have to blow up their chests with water balloons are probably at risk for all kinds of self-destructive behavior! Women will use all kinds of excuses to explain their need for implants, but it boils down to one thing only, they hate themselves. I have two girlfriends who underwent breast augmentation and they honestly thought that they would be more attractive, lovable, richer, etc.,etc.,etc. One friend, at this writing, keeps dating men 15 years younger than herself (44) and can’t understand why they won’t marry her. She spends all her money trying to be beautiful, yet she is broke every payday, can barely pay her rent. But there is always money for the next product or procedure that promises men, riches, whatever! The other friend has always been the depressed type and I’m afraid if the fake boobs don’t work to “lift” her self-esteem, suicide may be in her future. When are women going to make-over what’s in their head instead of their chests???

Large or small, wide or narrow, it doesn’t matter to me. Kind, smart, and funny is enough for me to be up before the babe awakes with coffee in bed. What do I know, I’m still single at 46.
