Coli because of meat production (a nearby farm's manure was the source), and O157 predominates when the feed is grain and not grass. If no one ate meat, the spinach would not have been tainted in the first place. If the cows were raised organically on grass, their natural food, the O157 would not have been there either. Not only can't the Government order a recall of beef, but they have stripped themselves of the right to even say where contaminated beef has been shipped.
