Avatar’s Deleted Sex Scene
James Cameron has generously prepared a little something special for the eager movie fans that watch his latest blockbuster, Avatar when it comes out on DVD.
Apparently, there is going to be an extended version of the scene in which human Jake Sully in his Na’vi body and the chief’s daughter Neytiri have sex. The Na’vi are the native people of the planet Pandora.
They are ten feet tall, blue, and have tentacles that extend from their braided hair. While Jake and Neytiri’s romantic coupling is alluded to in the theatrical release, the extended scene is said to be more graphic. Zoe Saldana (Neytiri) claims that the shooting of the scene was somewhat funny because of all of the technical equipment that she and co-star Sam Worthington (Jake Sully) were required to wear.
The scene was left out of the theatrical release so that the film could maintain its PG-13 rating. Avatar has been successfully dominating the box office ever since its opening night.
In its first three week’s it generated over one billion dollars worldwide.
The announcement of this extended scene seems to indicate that Cameron is planning to dominate the highly competitive DVD market in a similar manner.
