Simon Cowell is already a very wealthy man given all of the television shows he produces. Simon Cowell likely realizes that American Idol will not be on top of the ratings universe forever. Cowell is rumored to be leaving FOX’s top rated show. He is planning some big projects in the future.

One of these projects happens to be an American version of the game X-Factor. Bringing the X-Factor to American television could give Cowell a new project to focus on as opposed to having to deal with the same mundane issues on American Idol year after year. It is hard to say which network X-Factor would debut on given that Cowell has developed shows for both major networks Fox and CBS. Of course his “Cupid” series on CBS end up being considered a failure by most television critics. Cowell is rumored to be leaving American Idol in 2010. Cowell should at least be glad he won’t have to deal with the same persistent rumors as to whether Paula Abdul will be leaving the show or not from now on. The possibility of having Ellen Degeneres on the show may re-energize Cowell’s love for American Idol and he will want to continue.
