Nicolas Cage’s money trouble just got worse.
Cage, 45, is now being sued by his former business manager Samuel J. Levin .
In October Cage sued Levin for fraud, saying that Mr. Levin led him “down a path toward financial ruin.”
In his countersuit filed on Nov. 12, The Levin said he told Mr. Cage he would need to earn $30 million a year to maintain his life style, and that he warned the actor not to buy castles in England and Bavaria. (Mr. Cage did not heed the advice.).
“[Cage] knows that his losses are entirely and solely the result of his own compulsive, self-destructive spending, which he engaged in against Levin’s advice,” People magazine quoted the complaint as stating.
Levin contends that in 2007 alone the actor purchased three homes worth more than $33 million, 22 cars, 12 pieces of expensive jewelry and 47 pieces of artwork. Within a year, Cage’s tally of homes had reached 15. He also owned an island in the Bahamas, four yachts and a Gulfstream jet.
Levin also claims in the suit that Cage owes him $128,872.98 in unpaid service fees.
Cage has appeared in over 60 movies throughout his career.
