Heather Locklear’s return to Melrose place
Heather Locklear’s return as Amanda Woodward on Melrose Place has disappointed many fans and critics. Most people feel that the writers failed to capture the essence of the character, and without the right kind of dialog, she didn’t feel like the real Amanda Woodward.
The writers still have plenty of chances to improve their performance, because she is expected to appear in nearly every episode during the rest of the season. It’s not unusual for a writing team to take a little time coming to grips with an unfamiliar character, and since many of the writers on the new Melrose Place didn’t work on the last show, it shouldn’t be surprising that there have been glitches.
Word on the street is that the Amanda Woodward storyline is expected to get a lot more interesting over the next few episodes, and even more classic characters are expected to return before the end of the season. These characters include: Jane Mancini as Josie Bissett, Jo Reynolds as Daphe Zuniga and Michael Mancini as Thomas Calabro.
