Jacob Black – Man/Wolf Enough to Beat Edward?

Stephanie Meyer’s “Twilight” series has taken the tween world by storm with the enticing characters of Edward Cullen and Jacob Black. As “New Moon” begins to gain momentum and trailers have begun to air, more and more excitement is surrounding the competition between Edward and Jacob.

Though in “Twilight” it was a obvious win for Edward Cullen, taking home the trophy of Bella’s complete and utter devotion, Jacob Black finally gets the chance to get his in the second installment “New Moon”. The “New Moon” trailer clearly sets the stage for Jacob as the emerging leading man with his tribe standing behind him; his new phsycique doesn’t hurt either.

With Bella vulnerable without the watchful eye of Edward, it is Jacob’s turn to be the hero and prove to Bella that he is just as good, if not better, than a vampire. Though Edward thinks he is leaving Bella behind for her own good, it is soon clear that she can’t move on without him. Luckily, Jacob, now a man, is able to be there for her and provide her with the friendship and safety she demands.

Will Jacob’s rugged good looks and friendship be enough to keep Bella from being with Edward and possibly becoming a vampire herself? More will be revealed, but if the “New Moon” trailor is any indication, Jacob is more than up for the task.
