According to reports, U.S. actress Jaclyn Smith was in critical condition at a hospital in the northern city of San Pedro Sula, after being moved from the island of Roatan in the Caribbean, in an apparent suicide attempt.

However, Smith has denied the rumors.

Through a message from her Twitter account, Smith said she was safe and with her family.

Her publicist, Jay Schwartz, confirmed that “she is alive and well in Los Angeles … I talked to her this morning. ”

The root of this misunderstanding was in a report by the Honduran radio station HRN, which had reported that Jaclyn Smith was seriously injured and was treated at a private hospital in the northern city of San Pedro Sula, 250 kilometers from Tegucigalpa.

Apparently gossip blogger, Perez Hilton, who initially broke the story in English misread a headline which revealed that Smith’s old “Charlies Angels” stunt double was the one who actually attempted suicide.
