When the first “New Moon” trailer debuted at the MTV Movie Awards over the summer, it was a smash hit with raving fan girls around the globe. MTV seems to know a good thing when it sees it, and hopes for a powerful repeat performance.
MTV just confirmed rumors from earlier this week that a new trailer to the much anticipated sequel to “Twilight” will debut at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards. The new trailer features exclusive extended footage for the event. To up the stakes even more, MTV reportedly has also arranged for all three leads, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Kristen Stewart, to be present at the awards in order to introduce the new trailer.
The trailer is not the only “New Moon” excitement at the VMA. Earlier news broke concerning the first sneak peak at the soundtrack, which will also be debuted at the VMA. The musical premiere will be the recently recorded song by indie band Death Cab for Cutie. The song, called “Meet Me on the Equinox,” will anchor the soundtrack for the upcoming “Twilight” movie.
Though there is a long list of featured guests and events at the VMA, the “New Moon” press has generated by far the most buzz. The event, which will be hosted by comedian Russell Brand, will air on September 13. The “New Moon” soundtrack is scheduled to be released on October 20, while the long awaited opening of the movie will be a month later on November 20.
