Eric Dane — The Sex Tape Update

On August 19, 2009, a sex tape surfaced on the internet starring Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane, his wife Rebecca Gayheart, and former Miss Teen USA, Kari Ann Peniche. However, there was no visible act of sexual intercourse recorded. The tape featured the threesome wondering about the house naked, lounging in a hot tub, and discussing their would-be porn names. So, if it was a consensual evening between three adults, then what is all the fuss about?

During a stay at Dr. Drew’s Celebrity Rehab, Kari Ann Peniche roomed with country singer star, Mindy McCready who has gone on the record claiming that her “evil personified” roommate openly bragged about her former line of work in the sex-for hire industry. Peniche has been under surveillance by the LAPD for this alleged illegal activity.

After the tape hit the internet, Dane and his attorney are reported to have called Peniche in response to the leak to inquire about McCready. Peniche believes that McCready, in an act of venegance, stole her computer hard drive while they bunked together in rehab. However, McCready is not taking these allegations laying down. She is firing back, adamantly stating that she had nothing to do with this tape hitting the internet, that she never wanted to be dragged into this, and that Peniche is spreading vicious rumors about her.

On Friday, August 21, 2009 the LAPD has officially announced that there is an open, on-going investigation into the sex tape and the activity contained therein. Not due to the sex, or lack thereof, but due to other activity that signifies the threesome were engaged in other illegal activity — the possible use of a controlled substance.
