After backing down from directing the sequels to “Twilight” Catherine Hardwicke may now be too busy to take on all of her potential projects.
According to the Risky Biz Blog she’s currently in negotiations to direct the Warner Bros. reboot of “Little Red Riding Hood” as well as Sony’s big screen adaptation of “21 Jump Street”.
Both are on the slate to begin next year. “Little Red Riding Hood” will be a gothic take on the Grimm Brothers’ story about a little girl in red who has a run in with a wolf on the way to her grandmother’s house.
“21 Jump Street” is being written by Jonah Hill who will also star in the movie based on the 80’s TV series responsible for the launch of Johnny Depp’s career.
Hardwicke is already on board for another film being developed by Emile Hirsch which will be a contemporary adaptation of “Hamlet” and well as being in pre-production of “Maximum Ride”, an adaptation of James Patterson’s book of the same name.
It looks like the now popular director will have to make a decision on which movies she wants to work on or we she try and juggle them all?
