Farrah Fawcett, an accomplished actress, developed anal cancer in 2006. During this time she took the normal course of action and began treatment, (including chemotherapy and surgery). A few months into her treatment her doctors actually believed she was cancer-free. This was when she was allowed to end her treatments altogether.

Later on in 2007 Fawcett discovered that her cancer had come back. What had happened? Well, she had bought a digital camera to document what was going on in the doctor’s office. And to her dismay she discovered she had a polyp develop right in the area that was deemed to be cancer-free. From that point forward her doctors said she might need a colostomy.

Fawcett wouldn’t give up so easily, which is why she decided to go to Germany for more treatments. There she was given aggressive holistic treatments. They didn’t work, so her doctor prescribed an additional treatment that would surgically remove the tumor.

So, what is going on with Ms. Fawcett now, in 2009? Well, as of May 7, Ms. Fawcett has been described as “critically ill” by various sources, (including Wikipedia.org). However, it should be noted that just because she’s ill doesn’t mean she’s going to die. Yes, the fight has been hard but according to her doctors she’s fighting it quite well.

Contrary to reports, fawcett is still receiving treatment from her doctor.
