Former “Charlie’s Angels” actress Farrah Fawcett has been battling anal cancer for over four years. She documented her illness in “Farrah’s Story”, originally as a way to chronicle her cancer survival, according to her 24-year-old son, Redmond. However, the cancer spread to her liver, and the prognosis has recently become grim.
Fawcett’s treatments have now ended, and the star said, “it is seriously time for a miracle”. She has also lost the blond locks which contributed to her status as a symbol of sunny California beauty.
She and actor Ryan O’Neal, with whom she has had an erratic but passionate love affair, nearly married in Germany, where the actress had gone for treatment. The actor has tearfully professed his love for Fawcett, and the two would have wed had they not missed a legal deadline.
Son Redmond was allowed to leave the jail where he was serving a sentence or drug possession, in order to visit his mother last month, and her 91-year old father came from Houston to see her as well.
Despite signs that Fawcett would not survive much longer, hope was generated by a visit from a bishop, after whch the actress sat up in bed and eagerly ate a steak from her favorite restaurant, The Palm.
