But Microsoft And Sony Look For Ways To Unseat Sales King
Japan- For a long time Microsoft and Sony led the pack, with their Xbox and Playstation game systems and games, but Nintendo was crafty, and focused on their new Wii system, and games, and slowly wrestled market share and sales leadership from the two long time game leaders.
With its new Rhythm Tengoku Gold hitting store shelves, Nintendo has again returned to the number one sales chart position in Japan, and is potentially headed there around the world.
The highest new entry at number two on the sales chart is the much delayed Sony Afrika for their Playstation 3 game system, but it is not coming close to the type of sales numbers enjoyed by Nintendo and “Gold.”
The “Gold,” game will be known as Rhythm Heaven when sold in North America and Europe, and it has already sold in advance sales close to 76,000 units to date.
The entry by Capcom comes in at number four, Fate/Tiger Colosseum Upper for the PSP game system. It is based on the PC model and Playstation 2 game level graphics, but for a game of this type is selling moderately well.
The capcom game is bases on a erotic visual novel called Fate/Stay.
Each of the new game entrants work hard to try and achieve the kind of numbers that the Nintendo Wii has accomplished in the last year, but so far no one has been able to even come close to those type of sale level figures.
