New York – Morgan Freeman has been injured in a serious car accident in Mississippi, according to media reports.

Authorities say he was in a car accident Sunday and was airlifted from the accident scene to a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.  An unnamed woman who was in the car was also taken to hospital.

Freeman’s car went off of Highway 32 in Mississippi and flipped several times.

Alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the car wreck, Reuters reports.

Freeman’s condition is unknown, but police revealed that he was talking at the scene before he was taken to the hospital.

Reports suggest that the ‘Bucket List’ actor had to be removed from his car with the jaws-of-life.

An unconfirmed report also suggests that Freeman may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
