
Boston – In less than 48 hours, the number of downloads of the new Mozilla open-source web browser, Firefox 3, has surpassed 10 million.
Mozilla has achieved their goal of becoming part of the book of Guinness World Records, though it has yet to be confirmed.
This came after they recorded over 8 million downloads in a 24-hour period.
It has now been repored that day 2 for downloads did slow down, but the number has surpassed 10 million downloads.
Mozilla’s servers had a hard time keeping up with the demand as 8 million downloads were completed in 24 hours.
They managed to survive to surpass Mozilla’s expectation of 5 million downloads in the first 24 hours.
