Los Angeles – Tonight was Rock’n'roll hall of fame night on American Idol.
Given such a wide selection of music to choose from, you’d think the contestants would be able to pick the perfect songs — nope.
Syesha Mercado “Proud Mary†by Tina Turner for her first song. Although Randy and Pauly were digging it, as Simon put it, the performance came across as a cheap Tina Turnerimitation — dance moves and all.
However, Syesha’s stage moves were not nearly as disastrous as both of Jason Castro’s performances.
For his first song Jason sang “I Shot the Sheriff.†Simon called it “utterly atrocious.”
While singing his second song “Mr. Tambourine Man,†Jason forgot the words. Both Randy and Pauly thought it was a mess, but Simon put it best when he said “pack your bags.”
Both David Cook and David Archuleta had a Strong night, with Archuleta probably giving the best performances of the night.
Unless we see another strange voting week, Jason Castro will probably be voted off American Idol tomorrow night, with Syesha joining him in the bottom two.
