Los Angeles – Disney is shuting down what was to be Miley Cyrus’s first public appearance since so-called “racy” photos of her were published in Vanity Fair.

The Hannah Montana star said she feels “so embarrassed” about the photo.

“I apologise to my fans who I care so deeply about,” she said in a statement.

The 15-year-old singer had been scheduled to appear at Disney World to promote a competition called “Disney Channel Games.”

The controversy over the pictures revealing Cyrus’s bare shoulders even had Madonna weighing in.

Madge joked about it on MTV yesterday, saying “she’s going to probably show her knees next — watch out!”

Cyrus earned an estimated $18.3-million last year, according to People magazine.
