Los Angeles - Miley Cyrus says feels embarrassed after a partially nude photo of her was leaked over the weekend.

The photo, which will appear in an upcoming issue of Vanity Fair, was shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, who has also done magazine covers of Cameron Diaz, Nicole Kidman and many other celebrities.

Cyrus 15, is shown partially nude in the photo, only covered by a dark sheet.

The Disney star says she thought the photo shoot was supposed to be artistic.

“I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed,” Cyrus said in a statement released today. “I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about.”

TMZ reports that Cyrus’ parents and even her grandmother were present at the shoot.

Last week, the “Hanna Montana” star was involved in another racy photo scandal were images of pulling down her top to show a green bra were leaked online.
