Boston (EON) – The highly anticipated relaunch of Star Trek with the latest film now has a major villain who will be played by Eric Bana.

Eric Bana has signed on to play the villain Nero and Chris Pine is reportedly very close to signing on to play James T. Kirk.

The two will be filling up the Enterprise bridge in this Star Trek film which will be more of a prequel than anything else.

The staff who is already set to be on the Enterprise bridge includes Zachary Quinto as Spock, Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov, and Zoe Saldana as Uhura.

Leonard Nimoy has also been signed on to play the older Vulcan science officer.

J.J. Abrams continues his hard work on bringing Star Trek back to life with a target release for the film being Christmas 2008. The remaining roles which are left are expected to be filled within the next two weeks.
