Los Angeles (DON) – The CBS reality series Kid Nation is set to debut on Wednesday night despite a load of controversy surrounding it.
Kid Nation stars 40 kids who are between the ages of 8 and 15. They join together in New Mexico and have to run their own pioneer town. There are no adults at all leaving 40 kids to fend for themselves and try to survive, establish order, etc.
Many have protested the show though stating that it is cruelty to kids to make them go through such a thing. CBS has taken some major hits stating that it is not right and similar to putting kids working in a sweatshop.
The producers had parents sign a 22-page release form saying the network was not responsible for pretty much anything. If they got hurt, had emotional or physical problems, got HIV, got pregnant, or died, CBS was not liable no matter what.
So it seems that CBS has nothing to worry about except to just keep on taking the criticism and watch the absolutely monstrous ratings roll in despite whether or not the show is any good or just another junk reality TV show.
