Hollywood (EON) – Reports are stating that Britney Spears broke down in tears after her terrible performance at the MTV Video Music Awards 2007.

The troubled pop star had a rough time as she opened up the show performing for the first time on a live and monstrous stage in years.

Britney’s comeback performance was far from perfect. She performed her new single Gimme More wearing basically a bra and panties. Once she kicked off the performance though it was clear that she was not as agile as she was in the past.

Many critics stated she was out of shape, overweight, and not prepared for the performance.

Reports state Britney Spears refused to wear the clothes MTV gave her and also did not rehearse properly.

MTV wanted to try and get her to wear a corset outfit. It would have covered more of her body up. She refused to wear it though. Reports state she did not even get to Las Vegas until just hours before the show.

After the performance, Spears broke down in tears. She was later photographed by the paparazzi partying at 3 a.m. with no underwear on.
