
Los Angeles – Despite opening to mostly negative reviews, Zombie’s “Halloween” is on track to gross a record-breaking $23-$26 million at the box office in the United States during the four-day Labor Day weekend, according to SlashFilm.com.
According to DailyHerald.com, John Carpenter filmed his 1978 indie chiller on a $325,000 budget. The film made roughly $47 million at the domestic box office, and still ranks among the most impressive budget-to-box office ratios in history. Zombie’s studio-approved “Halloween” cost about $20 million.
Dimension Films, which is releasing “Halloween”, has just signed Zombie to a two-picture deal. According to Variety, Zombie will write and direct both films. There are no further details about the projects or whether they’ll be horror outings like Zombie’s three movies to-da
