According to reports, a foot model named Christina Ambers is suing her upscale apartment building, claiming the co-op board is trying to force her out because she married its former doorman.
You might not recognize her face, but Ambers hands and feet have starred in ad campaigns for Harry Winston and Maybelline and have even appeared in TV shows like “Rescue Me,”
Ambers, who has been called the ” Heidi Klum of foot models, has filed a $10 million lawsuit in Manhattan State Supreme Court. She’s suing residents and the management at the East 74th Street building known as the Avon House. Ambers has lived in the swanky building since 2003.
From WPIX.Com:
Ambers claims her porter-turned-husband, Angel Rotger lost his job over their relationship, and that the luxury building conspired to retaliate after the two became romantically involved. Ambers says employees began forcing her to hail her own taxis and retrieve her own packages. According to the suit, she claims her neighbors object to “a Hispanic former porter” living in the building, so they’re trying to push them out.
Tensions first grew between Ambers and the co-op board over her faulty floorboards, which started to buckle every 18 months, she claimed. Management would only repair the surface issue, but could never fix the underlying problem, she said.
“They warned me not to interact with her in any way… not to give her the services that she deserved as a shareholder,” Rotger told PIX News. “They didn’t say why, they just said that there was an issue going on with her, and that I was to treat her as a ‘dangerous tenant,’ and that if I valued my job, I should refrain from any communication.”
A lawyer for the building owners claims the lawsuit has “no merit.”
