A Tunisian woman has broke the octuplet moms record and is pregnant with 12 babies.

It has been reported that a 30 year old teacher is going to be giving birth to 12 babies very soon.

The woman has not been named is said to be expecting 6 girls and 6 boys at the end of this month with the help from fertility treatment. The teacher and her husband had turned to fertility treatment after experiencing two miscarriages back in 2007.

Her husband Marwan, who is also a teacher from Gafsa, had told a Tunisian newspaper “In the beginning, we thought my wife would give birth to twins. Our joy has increased with the growing number. The medical team has told my wife she would give birth naturally.”

The Tunisian Arabic language teacher stated that she feels fine and is excited to hug her six girls and six boys. She had told some hospital workers in Gafsa “All I want to do is to be able to hug my babies and show them all my love.”

Fertility experts has warned that the strain of carrying so many babies may lead to her going into labour at 20 weeks, the half way mark of a normal pregnancy which is 40 weeks.

The 30 year old woman is being monitored carefully by the doctors and the Tunisian health authorities have already told the expectant parents that they will offer various types of assistance to them and their family.
