Dancing With the Stars host Samantha Harris is leaving the show. Harris stated that she has loved working on the dance competition series since 2006. Samantha Harris has also been working with entertainment show The Insider and they wanted her to have a larger role as a correspondent, however in order for that to be done, she would need to leave Dancing With the Stars.

Harris stated that working on Dancing With the Stars was a dream job that gave her more opportunity than she ever imagined, and that she had made lifelong friends along the way.

Her co-host Tom Bergeron says that Harris will be missed but that he knew that her role in The Insider was going to be getting larger, and that he was all too familiar with the feeling of being pulled in several different directions when you try to juggle more than one job.

He also said that while he was pleased for his co-host he was also sad to see her move on.

Harris, who majored in journalism at North Western University and while still in college she also interned at Entertainment Tonight.

She knew that she always wanted to work in that type of media, and now she has her chance.

Only one hundred kilometers away from the devastation in Port au Prince, cruise ships are docking and tourists are enjoying the beach in Haiti. With so much relief needed such a short distance away people are outraged at Royal Caribbean for continuing its port calls in Haiti.

Royal Caribbean has stated that with every port call they are bringing food and water for the relief effort, have pledged one million dollars in donations and are helping the port of Labedee.

Haitians in Labadee want the cruise ships to come, regardless of the trauma the island has suffered. When interviewed, a local man simply stated “If they do not stop here – we do not eat”. Many of the people living in the Labadee port get their entire income from tourism and the cruise ships. There are over 200 Haitians who are employed by the resort in Labadee as well as countless store owners and street side vendors. Without the income generated by the cruise line, Labadee would soon find them selves in a desperate situation.

In a nation that was so poor before the earthquake hit, it is hard to imagine taking away any income the locals can make. Critics will continue to condemn the tourists as well as the Royal Caribbean line, but causing more devastation by taking away the Haitians way to earn a living would be horrible.

The latest news reported on January 15, 2010, covering Rush Limbaugh’s latest high school graduate’s analysis of the world scene is that he is now accusing President Barack Obama of using the Haitian natural disaster for political purposes.

Rush Limbaugh’s comments were quoted directly by many news channels and reports including the Internet. He is quoted as saying on his radio talk show yesterday that, “I do believe that everything is political to this president. Everything this president sees is a political opportunity, including Haiti, and he will use it to burnish his credentials with minorities in this country and around the world, and to accuse Republicans of having no compassion.”

No republican other than Rush Limbaugh has made any attack on President OBama’s allocating $100 million for Haitian relief and to making humanitarian efforts “top priority.”

Other reports are that Haitian political infrastructure is totally corrupt and those monies could be stolen rather than used to help the victims of the earthquake.

It’s always hard to say goodbye; however, it just got harder for Haisong Jiang of Piscataway, N.J. According to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Jiang was arrested at his home Friday night for causing the security breach that triggered the lockdown at Newark Liberty Airport in New Jersey last weekend. After several hours of questioning, Jiang was charged with defiant trespass and released at 12:14 a.m. today.

Surveillance video released on Thursday shows Jiang, a 28-year-old doctoral student at Rutgers University, sneaking past a security checkpoint during a security guard’s brief absence. He then joins a woman, presumed to be his girlfriend, and they walk away arm-in-arm. Jiang is later shown leaving the terminal about 20 minutes later.

Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) said he would seek to strengthen penalties for those involved in such breaches in the future. “When you looked at the tape, you could see that this was premeditated, that he looked for a chance to break the system,” Lautenberg said. “And though apparently he was on a relatively benign mission, the fact of the matter is, what he did was a terrible injustice to those 10,000 people, 16,000 people who were inconvenienced terribly.”

An Israeli Jewish man has set a new record for the number of official Jewish divorces. The 50 year old man lives in Jerusalem and has just been granted his 11th divorce. The Jewish court praised him for following the guidelines set forth regarding marriage and divorce within the religion. He marries and divorces approximately every 2 years. He has married in his home country as well as abroad.

The most recent x-wife has stated the divorcing addict, mooched off her family the entire span of the marriage. She was left with half of the debt he incurred during the marriage. The jobless man has 1 child that he does not pay any support for.

His arrogant reply to the court’s question about his future plans included the sickening statement, “I throw out a hook, and the fish come on their own.” He has not been named and is on the lookout for his next unsuspecting wife. He is on the hunt for the perfect bride that will not bore him after a couple of years.

The first official painting of youthful princes Harry and William, sons of the late Princess Diana, was put on display this week at the National Portrait Gallery next to the other royal portraits that already make the gallery their home spokesman for the gallery Neil Evans said.

London based artist Nicky Philipps painted the piece, which was commissioned by the gallery at her studio in South Kensington. A representative for the gallery said it will be on display for at least six months. The portrait shows both William and Harry in their full dress military uniforms along with medals and sashes. It shows them having a casual moment at the library at Prince Charles’s residence, the Clarence House before the annual Trooping the Color festivities in 2008.

Philipps said she tried to capture a sort of behind the scenes look at the human side of royalty and to emphasize their brotherly relationship.

Some would argue that college campuses are beginning to clamp down upon freedom of expression way too much.

Muslim Americans are now upset with a decision made by the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences to ban face coverings. Several Muslim Americans may attempt to find work at the school and because of the ban they view this as a restriction upon their religious freedom.

The reasons cited for the ban were over security concerns, they don’t want Muslim students and employees to be easily identified and targeted by hate groups in the area. The complaint has been filed with several federal agencies who handle employment discrimination cases. It is hard to say whether there are conflicting messages here, because a university spokesman said that he knew of no Muslim applicants who are trying to be hired at the school.

The point that several Muslim American advocacy groups like the Council for American Islamic Relations continue to say is that although the policy is suppose to be meant for just students it will also impact employment opportunities. The fact that no Muslim American has currently applied for a job at the school does not take a look at the overall larger picture.

National airport security has put new security measures in place on Monday following the terrorism incident on a plane flying into Detroit on Christmas Day. Airport officials state that people flying domestically will not notice minimal if any changes in pre-flight procedures at all. People flying on international travels will notice some changes.

New regulations included increased and closer screening for flights coming in to the United States from countries such as Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and Nigeria.

While you are waiting on line to get through security checkpoints in airports there are several things you can do to help the line move faster. These include have your Ziploc bag with bottles of liquid on top, taking your laptop out of its case and placing it on top of the bin also. Speak to your children about what is going to happen so they are not scared and hold up the line either. Also, make sure that you do not pack any prohibited items even in check luggage as it can cause delays for the flight also. A spokesperson for the Transportation Security Administration stated that the rumor is to arrive four hours early for a flight, which is NOT really necessary and can even cause more problems due to the amount of extra people in the terminals.

The increased security will be most obvious on international flights coming into the United States. These passengers will be searched twice, once at the usual security checkpoints and then again at the gate.

Farrah Fawcett’s Son Arrested yet again for Substance Abuse
Farrah Fawcett’s son arrested following his first day pass from a California based drug rehabilitation center. This latest legal problem is just another in a long line of substance abuse mishaps that Redmond O’Neal seems unable to shake. Prior to his mother’s death in 2009 he was incarcerated and serving time behind bars for charges related to probation violations resulting from a 2008 drug arrest. He was only allowed to see his mother once as she battled cancer, and even then he was only able to visit while in shackles and accompanied by prison guards. In September of 2009 Fawcett’s only child was transferred to a drug rehab facility where it was widely hoped he would finally be able to free himself of his personal demons and his longtime substance abuse habit. The first headline about Redmond O’Neal’s latest arrest was broken by the news source RadarOnline.com. According to reliable sources O’Neal was allowed a day pass just after Christmas Day and when he arrived back at his rehab center his actions and behaviors were reason enough for the staff to suspect that drugs were involved. After confirming their suspicions the son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal was arrested on the 29th of December and will now face another felony drug charge.
