Late Night finally gets some fresh faces and diversity. We’ve all heard of Jay Leno, David Letterman and Conan O’Brien (just to name a few), but not everyone has heard of Wanda Sykes and George Lopez.
George Lopez, probably more widely known for his syndicated show “George Lopez,” than stand-up, is dipping his toes in the late night talk-show waters. Starting Monday, November 9th on TBS, Mexican born, George, will bring his in-your-face candor and comedy to viewers.
“There’s a huge percentage of people not watching late-night TV at all,” Lopez said, figuring that the shows headlined by hosts including David Letterman, Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Kimmel draw from roughly the same audience pool.
While George takes on TBS, Wanda Sykes, the African-American stand-up comedienne and actress, who is known for her blunt and to-the-point verbiage, will be bringing not only a fresh face, but on-the-edge comic relief to Fox on Saturday nights.
“I believe all these shows are driven by the hosts, so (David) Letterman is the only one who could do the Letterman show, and it goes for all of us,” Sykes said. “Yes, George is a minority and so am I, but basically it’s not what you’re getting from a minority, it’s us.
“George has been at this for 20-plus years, and so have I. We’re seasoned comedians, so I think that’s what we’re going to bring to it. Dave Letterman brings his ‘I’m from Indiana’ point of view, and Jay (Leno) brings his, ‘I’m Italian.’
“I think that’s what it is, it’s host-driven. So it’s not, ‘Oh, now you’re finally going to get the voice of a black woman.’ Yeah, I’m a black woman, but I don’t speak for all black women.”
The time has long passed for a transformation in the late-night show line-up. George Lopez and Wanda Sykes will not only serve up great change in night time comedy, but open the door for further diversity.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took their brood trick-or-treating in Hollywood last weekend.
So what did Hollywood’s most famous couple dress up as?
Pitt, 45, dressed as DJ Lance Rock from the kids’ TV show “Yo Gabba Gabba.”
Jolie, 34, wen as a zombie (or vampire?). The busy mom dyed her hair grey and painted blood on the side of her face
Zahara, 4, wore a Batman costume, and toted a plastic pumpkin to collect candy. Maddox, 8, and Shiloh, 3, both sported camouflage/military-themed costumes. Pax, 5, was also present, but not photographed.
Left at home: 15-month-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
The Jolie-Pitts apparently had no security while they walked around the neighborhood. Pitt even drove the family himself.
RadarOnline reports that the couple were recognized by fellow trick-or-treaters, but they “had a blast.”

Twilight’s Rob and Kristen – Mystery Daters?
Are they or aren’t they? That is the question. Every day speculation about true love between the two Twilight “New Moon” leads gets more intense. The fiercely private Kristen Stewart is not even coy anymore about the rumored romance, telling people to “’blank’ off” in a recent Entertainment Weekly interview. Robert Pattinson is more polite, but also avoids giving a direct answer. In some interviews, he reportedly said he “can’t get a date.” Huh? Who ARE these women who’ve turned him down and what is WRONG with them?
Kristen hasn’t made a secret of her dislike for the fame game. In earlier interviews, the testy teen has said she and Robert are “close,” “good friends,” blah, blah, blah, but now she refuses to confirm or deny at all, asserting that “…there’s no answer that’s not going to tip you one way or the other.” If “Robsten”, as they are sometimes called, deny they’re more than friends, people will believe they are trying to keep their hot-blooded affair under wraps. If they admit to being an item, some might think it’s a publicity stunt to fan the hysteria over the upcoming movie even further.
It’s true many stars have met and hooked up on the sets of their movies and TV shows. But in this case, he’s just 23; she’s only 19, still a teenager, for goodness sake. Even if they are a couple, realistically, how long is that going to last? Unless of course they take after their counterparts, immortal lovers Edward and Bella – then it might be forever.

Carrie Prejean ends her case with suing the Miss California USA pageant with nothing coming in her hands.
Both parities ended their suits and agreed to settle their differences amongst each other.
Prejean sued the Pageant in August for discrimination on her religious beliefs and slander. The pageant asked Carrie to stop mentioning God and her controversial beliefs on gay marriage. The officials for the pageant filed the countersuit requesting to be paid $5,200 back that they gave her for her breast implants prior of the Miss USA competition.
During the face off in the settlement negotiations the Miss California USA lawyers brought out their weapon of her little X-Rated film starring her. As the film started rolling Prejean reacted with disgust and denied it was even her. As the camera went to her face she knew she was in trouble and it took her less than 15 seconds to discuss with her lawyer of dropping the $1 million demand.
The Pageant organizer, K2 Productions spokesman, Keith Lewis told the Daily News in a recent interview “We’re so glad to be back in the business of beauty and out of the litigious system that is Carrie Prejean. It’s wonderful to put this behind us.”
Both parties are not receiving any of their money that they were requesting in the suit.

For months now, it’s been reported that “Bella” actress Kristen Stewart and “Edward” actor Robert Pattinson were romantically linked both on and off the screen. But with “New Moon” just around the corner, those rumors are quickly coming to light, as Kristen speaks out vehemently about the relationship with her co-star.
When Kristen spoke recently to Entertainment Weekly about her “New Moon” relationship, she came across with all attitude, as she was quoted as saying, “I probably would’ve answered [questions about our relationship] if people hadn’t made such a big deal about it. But I’m not going to give the fiending an answer.”
The trailers for the Twilight movie are some of the most-watched right now, as fans are anxiously anticipating author Stephanie Meyer’s big-screen version of some of the most memorable characters in recent pop culture history.

DWTS Recap
As the latest season of Dancing with the Stars rolls on, the popular celebrity show has entered into its double-elimination phase, where two couples per show are going home now, as opposed to just one unlucky star and their partner. Eventually, one dancing duo will win the show, but until then you’d better vote hard to keep your favorites on the stage.
After seven weeks of competitive dancing, Tuesday night saw the unsurprising elimination of two of the weakest links left, football star Michael Irvin and his partner Anna Demidova, and celebrity chef Mark Dacascos plus professional partner Lacey Schwimmer. Irvin and his partner had the lowest combined score after their performance Monday night, based on numbers from both the judges and the votes from viewers alike.
Dacascos danced the samba most of the week with a different partner, Lacey having been under the weather and out most of the week. While she reunited with him for the final samba they would dance, Mark admits to being under stress trying to rehearse a routine with a partner that was new for him. Irvin danced a “gracious” and “brilliant” foxtrot, according to the judges, but it wasn’t enough to save him in the end.
Mark and Michael join the growing list of celebrities who have been booted from this season’s show, including UFC fighter Chuck Liddell and actress Melissa Joan Hart.

An Explicit End to a Long Year: Carrie Prejean Update
From winning Miss California and coming in second at the Miss America pageant to being stripped of her title and walking away without any money or dignity, it has been a long year for Carrie Prejean.
The beauty queen’s problems started during the interview portion of the Miss America pageant. Prejean admitted that she believed marriage should be between a man and a woman, leading to speculation that her answer cost her the crown. Prejean, however, rallied around her new cause, becoming a speaker on the topic.
Though this turn may have been good for her personally, the Miss California directors were not thrilled about her lack of focus on her title duties. Couple this with reports of racy photos from modeling shots, and Prejean eventually lost her crown.
Lawsuits inevitably followed but there was one more negative turn for Prejean yet to endure: a sex tape. Though not released publicly, the tape is said to be a solo act and especially explicit. Its discovery took the gusto out of Prejean’s lawsuit, and she settled without receiving any compensation. Though some have still stood by Prejean, there is no doubt that this roller coaster of a year has not been her best.

The new Twilight: New Moon trailer shows why vampires probably shouldn’t throw birthday parties for their mortal girlfriends! The clip premiered on MTV and shows what lead up to the already infamous paper cut. The new clip opens with Edward and Bella celebrating her birthday with his family. The happy little clan is enjoying the evening as the gift giving begins. Rosalie even gives Bella gift, but her disdain couldn’t be more evident. Emmett’s gift prompts what will soon become one of those movie catch phrases, “Don’t hate the truck!” Finally Edward’s parents have a gift to “brighten her day” because she has been “looking kinda pale lately.” It all goes wrong when Bella, struggling to open the gift, cuts her finger. The trailer cuts to Jasper as the blood lust rises in his eyes. Edward tenses and prepares to protect his lady love from the newly turned vampire…and the trailer ends!
Luckily for us, a previous trailer had shown Jasper attacking Bella and Edward fighting off the young vampire. It is this incident that sets the stage for Edward to leave Bella because he fears he cannot protect her. The film is scheduled to be released November 20th, 2009. There are some who wonder if they will see the whole movie in trailer form before the movie even opens, but this clip just leads up to what we already know will happen. New Moon fans are feeling a little frenzied themselves as they feed on the 60 second clips until they can get the full meal on November 20th!
