The many forest fires are still raging in British Columbia. The provincial authorities are on alert and may order new evacuations on the weekend.
The small town of Williams Lake, in particular, is preparing for the worst, if its 11,000 residents are forced to leave their homes quickly.
Winds should complicate the work of firefighters. Gusts of 70 km / h are expected this weekend.
Approximately 170 forest fires are active in the central and southern parts of the province. Since April, more than 616 fires have ravaged 1140 kilometers of land, leading the authorities to order the evacuation of 16,680 people.
