A major police investigation is underway in Mauricie, while three women were killed in the last hours before a suspect, a 51-year-old man who knew the victims, was arrested.
Everything began in a residence on Lac du Marchand Street in Shawinigan, where the suspect killed two women before lighting a fire.
The individual then went to another address, chemin du Méandre in Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc, where he attacked a man and a woman before lighting a new fire. The woman eventually succumbed to her injuries while the man was transported to a hospital, but is not afraid for his life.
The police also closed a service station on Trudel Street in Shawinigan. It was at this location that the fugitive suspect was arrested shortly after the events. The 51-year-old man who is currently met by the investigators.
The Sûreté du Québec confirmed that the individual knew the victims but refused to say what the link was between the suspect and the women. According to reports, the suspect’s sister-in-law and her father’s spouse were among the victims.
It is one of the victims who joined the police to ask for help, informs the police.
