
Hamilton – After a lot of fanfare about the upcoming release of the Apple 3G iPhone on July 11th, many of the consumers in the Canadian marketplace are less than thrilled. The have created an online petition to protest.
Canadian consumers want to know why they have to sign long-term agreements, and pay hefty fees in order to receive and utilize the new Apple iPhone.
AT&T is offering the Apple 3G iPhone with a two-year contract, and fairly steep fees for usage plans.
Rogers Communications really stuck it in the apple when they announced an even higher rate for users of the new Apple 3G iPhone.
The Rogers systems plan gives their users only about 2/3 the airtime and ½ the texts that the AT&T plan offers, at nearly the same price of $75 dollars. (more…)
Man Drowns Trying To Save Kayakers
Lake Huron-The body of a Etobicoke man was discovered on the shore of Lake Huron near Kincardine late Sunday afternoon.
Three teens were kayaking when their canoe overturned Saturday about 5pm, and a man who saw the event from shore rushed into the water to help.
He was last seen as he rushed into the water near MacCaskill Road as he and another man tried to help the kayakers. (more…)

Detroit-There are continuing cases of E. Coli that are being made public after the state has been battling the illness for over 10 days.
Kroger Grocery stores have recalled all of their ground beef, and the search for the supplier and source is continuing for the tainted ground beef that have made many people ill in Michigan, Ohio, and elsewhere.
The Michigan Department of Community Health is issuing an overall warning.

Young Men And African Americans Appear At Greatest Risk
Washington, D.C.- While worldwide there have been some progress noted among certain groups the HIV rates of infection among other groups have been on the rise in the last 6 years.
According to the American Centers for Disease Control and Prevention located in Atlanta Georgia, the rate of infection for HIV and AIDS among men rose significantly between the years 2001 and 2006, while it went down in other demographic groups.

Initial Suspicion Of Virus To Hit The State Confirmed
Denver-The first confirmed West Nile Virus cases to hit the state of Colorado have occurred.
The first West Nile case comes from Boulder County, while the other confirmed case was reported in Logan County.

During her appearance Thursday night on the Late Show with David Letterman, Mary-Kate Olsen revealed that she used to go to high school with former Hills star Spencer Pratt.
The pint sized Olsen doesn’t really have fond memories of Pratt either.
“He does not have a good temper,” Olsen, 22, told David Letterman. “He used to play on the soccer team … (and) he walked out of a few games. He would walk off the field.”
Speaking to USmagaze, Pratt fired back saying, “She should probably focus more on not getting dressed in the dark than on me.” The two went to high school in L.A. – though Spencer says he went to Crossroads, while MK went to Crossroads.
“I know I’ve made it when a famous troll is talking about me on Letterman,” says Pratt.
Mary-Kate was on the late night talk show promoting her new movie, “The Wackness.”

Temperatures for the Bay area are not expected to rise as high as they were last week, the temperatures through the July 4th weekend are not expected to rise above 95 degrees.

Cure Worked On Mice To Receive Testing On People
Winston-Salem NC- Beginning this week at Wake Forest University an exciting potential therapy that has cured cancer in mice will start human testing.
In the last 2 years there have been several mice that have been cured, and the testing has received approval from the federal Food and Drug Administration to begin human trials.
The Cancer therapy involves transfusion of white blood cells into the body of cancer patients.
The cells all come from donors who are cancer resistant.
