London - Amy Winehouse was arrested in London today on suspicion of assault charges.

The singer is in custody for allegedly headbutting a man on Wednesday.

Reportedly, the victim was trying to hail Amy a cab when she unleashed her fury.

The UK paper The Sun also claims Winehouse punched another man in the face and walked into a lamppost all in the same night.

If convicted, the Grammy award winning singer could face up to six months in prison.

Wesley Snipes, was sentenced on Thursday to the maximum penalty of three years in prison for three misdemeanor convictions.

Los Angeles - The Associated Press reports that Blade star, Wesley Snipes, was sentenced on Thursday to the maximum penalty of three years in prison for three misdemeanor convictions.

The 45-year-old actor reportedly failed to file a tax return for 1999-2001, amounting to $2.7 million owed in back taxes as he earned about $13.8 million during those years.

“In my mind these are serious crimes, albeit misdemeanors.” U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges said. “One of the main purposes which drives selective prosecution in tax cases is deterrence. . . In some instances, that means those of celebrity stand greater risk of prosecution. But there’s nothing unusual about it, nor is there anything unlawful about it. It’s the way the system works.”

Ottawa- In two different situations the use of a police search was ruled unlawful and a breach of privacy by the top Canadian Court.

In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled both searches inadmissible. One case occurred in 2002 in the St. Patrick’s High School, located in Sarnia, Ontario. The other case before the court involved a search at the Calgary Bus Terminal. (more…)

Outbreak In British Columbia Leads To Carbon Dioxide Crisis.

Vancouver, B.C.- For years there has been an annual outbreak in the Canadian NW forests of the Mountain Pine Beetle. But the vast infestation this year is leading to massive releases of greenhouse gases, and may lead to Canada totally missing their air quality goals.

The Mountain Pine Beetle has previously been held in check, mostly striking the NW part of Canada in the British Columbia region. But warmer temperatures in recent decades, along with forest fire suppression have allowed the pine beetle to take over. (more…)
