Washington - The accompanying picture of U.S. Senator Barack Obama wearing some traditional Somali dress, has the Senator angry at his rival, Hilary Clinton and her campaign staff.
The picture started circulating over the weekend and has caused a stir in many political circulates.
According to the Drudge Report, the photo was taken in 2006 and shows Obama who is dressed as a Somali Elder, during his visit to Wajir, a rural area in northeastern Kenya.
In a statement, Obama’s campaign manager, David Plouffe, accused the Clinton campaign Monday of ’shameful offensive fear-mongering’ for circulating the photo. (more…)
Los Angeles - Actor Sean Penn and model Petra Nemcova might be dating, TMZ reported Monday.
Sean, 47, and Petra, 28, were spotted getting pretty cozy while making the rounds at Sunday night’s Academy Award’s after parties.
The night before, Sean and Petra were even seen hanging out together at Villa in LA.
When Sean and his wife of 11 years, Robin Wright Penn, filed for divorce two months ago, they cited “irreconcilable differences” in the papers.
Los Angeles - Angelina Jolie showed off what appeared to be a healthy sized baby bump at the Spirit Awards Saturday.
Jolie and Brad Pitt walked the red carpet at the event which celebrates independent film, but the dogooder duo avoided the press line.
A source close to Angelina - who attended the Los Angeles ceremony with Brad - said: “Following all the rumours, she’s now made it obvious she’s expecting. They’re both thrilled to be adding to their brood. They are very, very happy.”
The couple has yet to actually confirm the pregnancy, though it sure looks like baby number five is on the way.
Los Angeles - Britney Spears reunited with her sons after nearly two months apart.
Kevin Federline’s bodyguards dropped Sean Preston and Jayden James off on Saturday morning at the singer’s home, where they spent about three hours with their mother.
Britney’s father, Jamie Spears was also there during the visitation.
Visitation rights were OK-ed by Federline on Friday.
Los Angeles - Red-carpet glamour was alive and well at the 80th Annual Academy Awards Sunday night, thanks to the writers who ended their strike just over a week ago.
The Coen brothers won the coveted Best Picture award for No Country For Old Men. The duo also took home Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay. The film’s Javier Bardem also won Best Supporting Actor for his creepy role as a cold-blooded killer.
The acting category was swept by Europeans including French actrice Marion Cotillard who took Best Supporting Actress.

Hamilton - Ontario Conservative and Progressive party leader John Tory is facing a lot of criticism with his decision to continue on as leader. He has shown a fair amount of confusion in announcing his decision recently to stay on as leader.
In an event on Saturday, nearly 1300 Conservative delegates voted, and John Tory received a 66.9 percent approval rating in the voting. This was an opportunity for those in the Conservative Party to censor or even eliminate John Tory from the scene. Many in the Conservative party are still angry about the 2007 election campaign oversaw by Tory in which the party lost a lot of popular support.
Tory is calling for Conservatives to support his decision to remain as leader for the time being. But many conservatives are not so sure. “The Party has given its decision and its time to move on,” said John Tory after the Vote. Many in the Conservative part feel that following the vote that John Tory further damaged his efforts at leadership by his hesitation and confusion.
It remains to be seen if the leadership of John Tory in the coming months will satisfy those in the Conservative Party who are most critical.
New York - In an announcement Microsoft has announced it will cease production of external HD DVD drives for its Xbox console. Microsoft has announced it will continue overall support for its Xbox console, but has not stated if it will produce an external Blu- Ray drive to support other existing systems.
Microsoft has said it will honor warranties on existing HD DVD systems. There are some people that are cheering the abandonment of the HD DVD format and some in the industry are happy that the format selection went the way that it did. (more…)

Stars who were in attendance at the recent birthday bash for Ashton Kutcher are among those who are being urged to get a vaccination against Hepatitis A. Kutcher celebrated his 30th birthday in New York City at the well-known bar, and many celebrities and stars were in attendance.

New York - Following the announcement of Toshiba Inc discontinuing their HD DVD system other companies continue to announce their support of the Blu-Ray system. Amazon.com and Universal studios are two of the latest companies that are declaring their support to the Blu Ray protocol.
The match up between the former HD DVD system and Blu – Ray has been over for a couple of days now, but companies still feel the need to declare their support for Blu-Ray type of high definition media.
Just a single day after Toshiba announced their discontinuation of the HD DVD technology there are a lot of companies that seem eager to go on the record with their support for the Sony backed technology. Los Angeles - Jennifer Lopez has given birth to twins in New York this morning, her manager has confirmed.
J.Lo and husband Marc Anthony are celebrating the arrival of a baby girl, born at 12.12am and weighing 5lb 7oz, and a boy, following at 12.23am and weighing 6lbs.
The singer/actress’ manager Simon Fields, says: “Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the moon.”
Lopez announced her pregnancy last November, following months of speculation.
