Los Angeles - Tom Cruise is rumored to be building a $10 million underground bunker at his mansion in Telluride, Colorado, as a way to save his family after Armageddon - not the nuclear holocaust kind, but the end of the world when the Galactic Confederacy dictator Xenu attacks the earth.
According to a report in the always reliable Star magazine, Scientologist Cruise - an OT-VII (Operating Thetan seven) - wants to be prepared for the coming War of the Worlds. Who says life can’t be a movie?
Reports claim the bunker will be a self-contained underground system where up to ten people can survive for several years. But would that be sufficient to hide from the deposed evil overload Xenu, whom Scientologists believe will seek revenge and destroy earth someday?
Vice president of L.A.’s Celebrity Scientology Center Greg LaClaire questions the Star’s story, saying, “I don’t speak for our parishioners, but it’s a complete fabrication. Bunkers aren’t even remotely a principle in Scientology.”
Meanwhile, OK! Magazine has reported the couple are trying for another lil’ thetan of their own — a baby sibling for toddler Suri while Tom’s in Germany filming the Nazi pic “Valkyrie”.
Los Angeles -A new set of Vanessa Hudgens photos have once again made their way online.
In the latest photos, Hudgens can be seen posing provocatively with a blonde friend wearing lingerie.The photos were published by British tabloid, The Sun.Other photos including Hudgens bending over to show her bottom to the camera.
Two weeks ago, the “High School Musical” star apologized to fans when a nude photo of her made it way around the Internet.
“I want to apologise to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me,” Hudgens said in a statement issued after the photo surfaced.
“I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends.”
In a Teen magazine interview released earlier this week, Hudgens described herself as “a very private person” with “very good morals” who enjoyed serving as a role model.
“I’ve been brought up with very good morals and I’m not going to go out and do something I don’t want other kids to do,” she said in the article.
There could be more naughty photos of the 18-year-old star in the works. Hudgens has said she would like to pose for a men’s magazine — but ruled out Playboy.
“I totally would pose for a sexy magazine,” she said. “I think being a woman and being able to show a sexy side is empowering.”
Boston (EON) - The Walt Disney cell phone service geared towards children is coming to an end as they have announced that they are dropping the Disney Mobile idea after not even two years.
The Disney Mobile service has been up and running for a little over 15 months now but will be coming to a close. Disney has stated that they are going to try and find a new partnership to offer their wireless services and content.
Steve Wadsworth, Walt Disney Internet Group President, stated that the the “model has proven. as we’ve seen with other companies thsi past year, to be a difficult proposition in the hyper-competitive U.S. mobile phone market.”
This comes after the Disney ESPN brand also pulled its Mobile ESPN venture last year as well. The Disney Mobile service launched in June 2006 as a mobile virtual network. It worked over the Sprint Nextel network.
The Family Center which the phone offered allows parents to put restrictions on the phones which would keep kids from using them too much. It would also have GPS functionality so that parents could kepe track of their kids.
Disney is looking to continue to offer those features with major U.S. carriers and will likely sign on with a big name to do so.
Disney Mobile stated it would continue to support service for customers through December 31st and will reimburse eligible customers if they see fit.
Boston (EON) - The Kingdom is Peter Berg’s latest masterpiece and has Jamie Foxx playing the role of an FBI agent by the name of Ronald Fleury in an explosive role.
Foxx’s character Fleury has agreed to bring an FBI team to investigate a suicide bombing in an American compound in Riyadh.
The suicide bombing occured on softball field and ended up killing over 100 oil-company employees as well as family members.
One of the co-workers of Fleury was also killed in the attack.
The film revolves a lot around a political struggle as there are tensions between the United States and Saudi Arabia. Fleury though gets approval to go into Saudi Arabia on a secret mission.
The Kingdom is an action-thriller in every sense of the word. It focuses on terrorism as well and puts it under the microscope once again on the big screen. For some this may be distasteful butf or others it may be extremely heart-pounding and exciting. Regardless Foxx plays a fantastic role here as the film will have you on the edge of your seat one way or another.
Boston (EON) - Martin Scorsese, the Academy Award winning director, has signed on to create a feature-length documentary on the life and times of George Harrison.
George Harrison was a former Beatles member and a worldwide icon tos ay the least. The legend of George Harrison is not going to die thanks to Scorsese. The family of the late great George Harrison has opened up their archives to the amazing director so that he has all the material he needs to work his magic.
Scorsese has stated that the film would dig beneath the surface of the legendary musical artist. He stated that “Harrison’s music and his search for spiritual meaning is a story that still resonates today and I’m looking forward to delving deeper.”
The film will follow Harrison, who died in 2001 at the age of 58 from cancer, starting with his childhood and moving forward through his times as a member of The Beatles.
Early production and interviews will begin later this year. It is expected to take two years to complete the project.
Hollywood (EON) - It appears that Lindsay Lohan is not getting out of rehab anytime soon as it has been announced that she will stay in rehab at the Cirque Lodge Utah facility.
She has been going through treatment there for drug and alcohol addiction after having a very rough year. Lohan was originally set to leave her luxury rehab facility this week. The mother of Lohan though has stated that her 21-year-old daughter would stay in the rehab exclusively.
Dina Lohan stated that “Linday is not leaving Cirque Lodge in Utah any time soon. She has a few more weeks to grow and develop, and she is doing great.”
Lohan checked into the rehab in early August and it was her third time this year already that she has been in rehab. She was arrested two times this year already for drunk driving.
It appears that Lohan is not going anywhere but the confines of her rehab facility.
Hollywood (EON) - Dwayne The Rock Johnson is back once again showing a more comical side in his new Disney flick The Game Plan.
The Game Plan has The Rock playing quarterback Joe Kingman. He is one of the best and toughest players in the football league which he plays in. He can take any hit and has no fear, until he meets the 8-year-old daughter he has that he never knew existed.
He discovers the 8-year-old daughter named Peyton when she shows up on his front doorstep.
Johnson stated that the message “is about strong relationships, not only strong relationships but about family relationships and taking care of family.”
Kingman, Johnson’s character, has to juggle football as well as his daughter as he goes through many comedic moments which have him appearing to be tortured and humiliated by the daughter in various situations.
The film as stated is a Disney flick so it is one of those family feel-good films which many will actually enjoy. It is a move which Dwayne The Rock Johnson has made and it was a smart one. He has stepped away from the action movies and into a more controlled and moving role where he truly shines. Disney may have a brand new star on their hands with The Rock. Depending on how The Game Plan does, The Rock may stop throwing punches and begin singing zip-a-dee-do-da with Mickey mouse.
Boston (EON) - Topps Meat Company has announced an expansion to their recall of ground beef which may have been tained with a strain of the E. coli bacteria.
The company stated that they are voluntarily recalling around 331,582 pounds of ground beef products.
The products were all produced on June 22, 2007, July 13, 2007, and July 23, 2007 and were sent to retail grocery stores and food service institutions across the United States.
This came to the attention of the public and Topps Meat when a sampling was done by the New York Departmen of Health.
Several illnesses were reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention causing them to lead an investigation.
This is the first recall in over 65-years of the company being in existence. The products have already all been pulled from the shelves of grocery stores but may still be in the freezers’ of consumers.
Lincoln (EON) - The West Nile virus is more potent than ever in Nebraska as the number of human cases has increased to 15 since just last week.
The total of humans infected with the West Nile virus in Nebraska according to the Nebraska Health and Human Services is now at 113. There have been 3 deaths thus far in Nebraska which have been confirmed to be due to the West Nile virus as well.
There are 93 counties in Nebraska with 43 of them reporting cases of West Nile. Many residents are eagerly awaiting for the cold to get here as it will take the first hard freeze to get rid of the mosquitoes.
Symptoms according to the Nebraska Health and Human Services include those similar to the flu such as fever and being weak.
The West Nile is on the move this year more than ever as it has been a very rough season across the United States, and as you can see is doing a lot of damage in Nebraska.
The latest cases are coming from Cuming County in Nebraska.
Its recommended to get rid of standing water and reduce contact with mosquito breeding areas.
Washington (EON) - According to reports alcohol can increase the risk of developing breast cancer.
Kaiser Permanente researchers looked at the effects of alcohol and if it raised the risk of developing breast cancer. They found that those who drink three or more daily drinks raise their risk of developing breast cancer by 30%.
Heavy drinkers increase the risk of breast cancer the most.
Yan Li stated that “It doesn’t matter if you drink red wine or white wine. If you are a heavy drinker you will have an additional 30% risk of breast cancer.”
Data from over 70,000 women were looked at in the study. They looked at data from doctors visits in 1978 through 1985 and then looked at whether or not women had breast cancer as of 2004.
Women who drank one or two drinks a day had a 10% increased risk of breast cancer as well.
This is the same increase in risk of breast cancer as the increase if you smoke a pack of cigarettes each day.
